Our Team

José Vélez founded Vélez Law Group LLC to enforce the civil rights of people with disabilities and protect consumers from unlawful corporate surveillance. With over 15 years of experience in civil rights litigation, he leads the firm's practice across four federal jurisdictions.

Mr. Vélez is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the District of Puerto Rico, the Northern District of Illinois, and the Southern District of Texas. Participation in California federal courts is handled on a case-by-case basis through pro hac vice admission, in collaboration with local counsel.

He is a member of the Disability Rights Bar Association and has dedicated his career exclusively to civil rights enforcement — including ADA Title III physical and web accessibility litigation, Fair Housing Act enforcement, Section 504 claims, and consumer privacy protection under CIPA, CCPA, and the Unruh Civil Rights Act.
